French ship Terpsichore

Several ships of the French navy have borne the name Terpsichore, after Terpsichore, one of the Muses of Greek mythology:

  • Terpsichore (1758), captured in 1760 by HMS Aeolus, Pallas, Brilliant, taken into service as HMS Terpsichore and sold in 1766.
  • Terpsichore (1763), 30 gun frigate broken up in 1784.
  • Terpsichore (1812), captured in 1814 by HMS Majestic
  • Terpsichore (1827), broken up at Brest in 1839.
