Four ships of the French Navy have been named in honour of Armand-Jean du Plessis, Cardinal and Duc de Richelieu, considered to be one of the founders of the French Navy.

Ships

Richelieu (1873), a central battery ironclad.

Richelieu (1915), an auxiliary patrol boat.

Richelieu (1939), a fast battleship.

Charles De Gaulle, a nuclear aircraft carrier was originally named Richelieu.

The projected new French aircraft carrier, if built, may be named Richelieu.
