Mousqueton was one of 20 Arquebuse-class destroyers built for the French Navy in the first decade of the 20th century.

On 7 July 1914, Mousqueton collided with the French Navy submarine Calypso in the Mediterranean Sea off Toulon, France. Calypso sank, but her entire crew of 26 was rescued.
