Fred G. Barrett (October 2, 1914 - July 3, 1984) was a municipal politician who served as mayor of the city of Gloucester, Ontario from 1982 until his death at the age of 69.

He was born in Leitrim, in the-then Township of Gloucester and lived his entire life in the farmhouse where he was born. Barrett attended Glebe Collegiate but left high school at 17 to work on the family farm. He followed his father (also named Frederick) in the agricultural profession and prospered as a dairy farmer. Known for his folksy manner, he served on Gloucester council off and on for twenty years, finally winning the mayor's office. He married Doris E. Kemp (1922-1988). Barrett ran unsuccessfully as a Liberal in the provincial riding of Carleton East. The former Leitrim Arena was renamed in his honour.

He died from liver cancer at the family farm.
