Fred Bankhead (1912–1972) was a former player for the Negro Leagues. He received 490,000 votes for third place in the 1939 East West All Star Game. In 1942, Bankhead made the East-West All Star Game.

Bankhead joined the Negro leagues in 1936. He made his debut playing as a reserve infielder for the team named the Birmingham Black Barons. He played second base for the Memphis Red Sox.

His brothers Sam, Joe, and Garnett all also played in the Negro Leagues, and his brother Dan played Major League Baseball.
