History

Fred's House Music Fred39s House

In February 2010 "Griff and Vix", a London-based couple and duo, were set to record songs with producer NoisyFred. Griff’s brother Gafyn had been playing with Cambridge band "The Wentways", but they had just lost their front man due to artistic differences. They asked Gafyn if he would play bass for their recordings, to which he replied, 'I'll bring the whole band!'. So it was at Fred's House where they spent the weekend in the studio and with brother’s Griff and Gafyn playing together once again and everything falling quickly into place, Griff and Vix inherited a whole rhythm section and lead guitarist Lachlan Golder overnight. They played their first gig together a week later in London. These recordings made up the band’s first E.P. demo - Fred's House.

For the last two and a half years the band have been performing as a quartet with bassist Gafyn taking on the rhythm section, playing bass, kick drum and hi-hat with his feet as well as backing vocals. However, since July of this year Fred's House have been enjoying a bigger and fuller sound as they welcome drummer and percussionist Paul Richards to the band. Paul has been a friend of the band since the beginning and they are delighted he will be recording tracks on their debut album and joining them for as many shows as possible! However the band will still be playing some acoustic shows at folk and acoustic clubs featuring Paul on the Cajon and Congas!
