Sir Francis Anderson (21 December 1614 – 19 July 1679) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1660 to 1679.
Anderson was the son of Roger Anderson, of Jesmond, who was Sheriff of Newcastle in 1612, and his wife Anne Jackson, daughter of William Jackson, of Newcastle. He was sheriff of Newcastle in 1641 and was knighted in November 1641. In the Civil War, he "was a devoted loyalist" and as a result was subsequently fined £1200, sequestered, imprisoned, and stripped of his knighthood.
In 1660, Anderson was elected Member of Parliament for Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the Convention Parliament. He was re-elected MP for Newcastle in 1661 for the Cavalier Parliament and sat until his death at the age of 64 in 1679. He was mayor of Newcastle again in 1662 and 1675.
Anderson was of Jesmond and Bradley. He married Jane Dent, daughter of John Dent.
