The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) is a not for profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization established by the US Congress that raises private-sector funds for a broad portfolio of unique programs that complement and enhance NIH priorities and activities. Its purpose is to support the NIH in its mission to improve health, by forming and facilitating public-private partnerships for biomedical research and training.

Its activities include management of large research initiatives, issuing grants, incubating new research enterprises, administering training and education programs and organizing and facilitating broad-based research summits.
