The Fortescue grunter (Leiopotherapon aheneus) is a species of freshwater fish in the Terapontidae family. It is endemic to Australia. It can be found in rivers of coastal northwestern Australia, such as the Ashburton and Fortescue Rivers. It is a resident of Karijini National Park.

This fish has some commercial value as an aquarium pet.
