"For Sentimental Reasons" is a song by Abner Silver, Al Sherman and Edward Heyman and was first released on October 18, 1936. It was recorded by Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra featuring a vocal by Jack Leonard.

This is a different song from the Nat "King" Cole's 1951 hit, which was written — music and lyrics — by William "Pat" Best in the late 1930s when he was still a teenager but published in 1945 with the credits stating "music by William 'Pat' Best, lyrics by Ivory 'Deek' Watson."
