Company
Flux was founded in 2000 by David Sims when it transitioned from a one person consulting shop to a software company that sold an automatic job scheduler software component for the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) platform. The company has been self-funded since its inception.

Flux has received awards and recognition for its workload automation software.
- In 2016 Enterprise Management Associates released its "EMA Radar for Workload Automation (WLA): Q1 2016" report, which recognized Flux with a "Strong Value" award.
- In 2012 Enterprise Management Associates released its "EMA Radar for Workload Automation (WLA): Q2 2012" report, which assists IT professionals in selecting an appropriate Workload Automation product for their needs. In this report, Flux was recognized with a "Strong Value" award.
