DemographicsEdit
For the purposes of the New Zealand Census of Population and Dwellings, Flemington falls within the region of Elsthorpe-Flemington. This covers a large amount of southern Hawke's Bay south and east of Waipukurau, and it had a population of 2,949 at the 2001 census. This is not reflective of the population of the locality of Flemington itself, as it constitutes only a small part of the statistical region.
EducationEdit
Flemington School was founded in the first decade of the 20th century. It presently caters for 71 students. In readiness for its centenary and to cater for the increasing development of "lifestyle blocks" in the Flemington area, it has sought to expand and improve its facilities, with the East and Central Community Trust contributing NZ$10,000 towards new play equipment for the students.
