Fisher’s Folly was a house in Bishopsgate Street, in Bishopsgate Ward Without built by Jasper Fisher. Purchased by the Earl of Oxford in 1580, he sold it to William Cornwallis (c. 1545 – 1611) in 1588. By 1603, Roger Manars (presumably Roger Manners) owned the property. In the Seventeenth Century, the Earls of Devonshire owned it, and by 1773 it was gone. Today the location is still called Devonshire Square.
