A first-order fluid is another name for a power-law fluid with exponential dependence of viscosity on temperature.

μ e f f ( γ ˙ , T ) = μ 0 γ ˙ n 1 exp ( b T )

where γ̇ is the shear rate, T is temperature and μ0, n and b are coefficients.

The model can be re-written as

μ e f f ( γ ˙ , T ) = exp ( A 0 + A 1 ln γ ˙ + A 2 T )
