The Fiat Tipo (sedan Type 356, hatchback Type 357, station wagon Type 358), also known as the Fiat Egea in Turkey, is a sedan compact car. It was unveiled at the 2015 Istanbul Motor Show in May 2015, and commenced sales in Turkey in October 2015. In 2016 it was followed by a hatchback and a station wagon version for the European market. The sedan version will not be offered in the United Kingdom, although the other variants will.

The Tipo is assembled at the Tofaş plant in Bursa, Turkey, by the Italian automaker Fiat as a world car. It is built on the Fiat Small Wide LWB platform (derivative of GM Fiat Small platform) and replaced the Bravo and Linea in the C-segment range. The Egea was designed by Fiat Style Centre, and co-developed by Tofaş, a joint venture between the Fiat Group and Koç Holding.

In December 2015, the car won the 2016 Best Buy Car of Europe award from the Autobest jury made up of Europe's 26 leading journalists from 26 different European countries. In early 2017 it was revealed that the Tipo will sell in the US and Canada under the "Dodge Neon" nameplate, with appropriate changes to its design. The new 2018 Neon is expected to ship by mid-2017 and will replace the outgoing Dart in the compact car line-up.

Safety

EuroNCAP test was changed for 2016 so that every car would be tested with standard equipment and additionally with "safety pack" if safety equipment is considered as optional extra. Tipo had only 3 stars in EuroNCAP test with standard equipment and 4 stars with speed limiter and brake assistance. EuroNCAP results - Fiat Tipo
