Feminist Media Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal covering media and communication studies from a feminist perspective. It was established in 2001 with three issues a year, and is published by Routledge. The editors-in-chief are Cynthia Carter (Cardiff University) and Radha S. Hegde (New York University). Feminist media studies is also a field of study examining how representations of gender, race, sexuality, disability, class, and other forms of identity both produce and are produced by contemporary media texts.
