In United States banking, a federal savings bank (FSB) is a savings bank that is created (or chartered) under and regulated by United States federal law, and administered by the United States Department of the Treasury's Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insures deposit accounts in federal savings banks up to prescribed limits.
