Imam Muhammad Zahid al-Kawthari regarded Allama Shabbir Usmani's incomplete commentary as the best on Sahih Muslim.
The work was complemented by a six-volume work named Takmilat Fath al-Mulhim by Muhammad Taqi Usmani.
