History

Faith Baptist Bible College

Faith Baptist Bible College is the result of both a need and a vision. It is a by-product of the one and only genuine revival which took place in the 1970s in Chin State. Due to the doctrinal chaos they encountered during the early days of that revival, a group of young people felt a strong urge to establish a good, solid Bible school for their own people and other Bible believing evangelical Christians. Their desire was and still is to train young people in the sound doctrine of the Bible and equip them with the needed skills for the Lord’s service in this challenging time. Seeing their burning desire, the Lord sent them to various schools in different parts of the world for their own training, then brought them back together and helped them start Faith Baptist Bible College on September 1, 1986 in Tedim, Chin State. Thus, Faith Baptist Bible College was born on that historic date.

The Lord’s hand has truly been upon this ministry from day one. He has used this college in multiple ways. Faith Baptist Bible College is not only a theological training ground but also a center of mission endeavor, and most of all, a bulwark of historic Christian faith where the inspiration and authority of the Bible is tenaciously defended. We want our students to build a biblical philosophy of life and ministry and cultivate biblical convictions that will help them obey and honor God for the rest of their lives. Classes and other programs are designed to help them do this.

Our alumni who number 1285 are now serving the Lord faithfully in different parts of this great nation and around the world. Students of this college represent over a dozen ethnic races of this country and scores of church groups and denominations. Combining our two schools, we have the privilege to train some 200 students every year which makes us one of the largest theological schools in the whole nation. Through the years, the Lord has graciously provided all our needs including a very beautiful campus and several magnificent buildings for FBBC in Tedim.

Faith Baptist Theological Seminary

The Lord, in 2003, once again fulfilled our vision by enabling us to start a seminary in Yangon. The Lord miraculously provided a splendid eight-storey building for this seminary at the heart of the city.

As we look back the past twenty-nine years, we cannot help but praise and thank the Lord for what he has done for us and through us. We humbly acknowledge that we have come this far just because of the Lord’s grace and His grace alone.

Great and glorious may past blessings be, we, however believe they are just a token of greater blessings the Lord has in store for us in the future. The best is yet to come.

Academics

FBBC&TS’s philosophy of education is rooted in the grand tradition of classical Christian education. The cornerstone of our academics is rigorous study of God’s Word and the doctrines of the Bible. From this foundation you learn the great works of art, philosophy, and music of the world, studying them with a critical eye from a Christian perspective.

Many colleges and universities have abandoned classical education in favor of either broad liberal arts degrees that are quite unrelated to professional development or skill-specific, technical degrees with very little focus on intellectual development — and neither of these pursuits typically account for what is defined in Scripture as true wisdom, the fear of the LORD.

It’s our belief that classical Christian education, which produced some of the finest minds in our history, prepares you to excel in life by first knowing God and understanding how to think critically from a Christian worldview. This foundation allows you to succeed no matter your chosen career path.

Faith Baptist Bible College & Theological Seminary takes seriously the preparatory function of education, teaching our students to humbly submit to God’s truth in every subject area, to think critically about the world, and to engage the culture around them with winsome grace and courageous faith.
