The Fairchild Stratos Corporation was a former American aircraft manufacturer and aerospace company, formed from the Sherman Fairchild Company in 1961.

History

The manufacturing company was based in the village of Farmingdale in the town of Oyster Bay, on Long Island in New York state.

Operating divisions, subsidiaries, and affiliates included: Aircraft Missiles Division, Aircraft Service Division, Electronic System Division, Stratos Division, Fairchild Arms International Ltd., Fairchild Aviation N.V. (Holland), and Aerotest Laboratories, Inc.

Its successor company was the Fairchild Hiller Corporation, established in 1964 after a 1962 merger with the Hiller Aircraft Company.
