The Faculty of Shipbuilding (Bulgarian: Корабостроителен факултет) is basic unit one from the first three faculties in the structure of Technical University of Varna. With its technical orientation, the faculty is unique in Bulgarian higher education.

History
'The Faculty of Shipbuilding' is one of the first three faculties in the Technical University of Varna. The faculty is the successor of the Shipbuilding department's and Marine engineering of the State University of "St. Cyril Slavyanobulgarski"(State polytechnic direction).In the years 1947–1953 the department had directions in Ship technologies and Ship engines. The faculty homes in the building of Machinery engineering.

Department of Shipbuilding
Department of Shipbuilding is found in 1974. The first Professors in the department were Blagoveshtenskiy SN - Professor of Theory of ship Sea St. Petersburg University, Russia, I. Ryabov. - Professor structure of the hull, St. Petersburg Maritime University, Russia; S. Simeonov V..For 40 years engineers from the department work as CEO, managers and engineers in shipyards in Varna, Bourgas and Rousse. Other graduates found realization in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Department of Ship Machines and Mechanisms were founded in 1963.
Department of Heat Engineering
Department of Heat Engineering were founded in 1998.
Department of Technical Mechanics
Department of Technical Mechanics were founded in 1963. The first Professors in the department were Ivan Kisyov (from High mechanical-electrical institute in Sofia) and Marco Todorov from University of Rousse. The first appointed teachers since 1964 are Lubomir Panayotov (Dr.) Gancho Uzunov (Dr.) Peter Dragulev (PhD), Vasil Antonov (Prof.) Lazarus Dobrev (PhD).
