Fútbol por la Vida (”Soccer for life”) is a Non-governmental organization located in Costa Rica, which was founded in San José 2004 with the idea of teaching soccer as a media towards the human development and the accomplishment of children and youth rights. The foundation runs six soccer schools in both urban and rural parts of Costa Rica.
Their mission is to contribute to the integrated development of children and young people (female and male between the age of 8 and 18 years) living in communities with social exclusions through sports, recreation, arts and education. Fútbol por la Vida uses as main tools the creation of soccer schools, workshops, camps, festivals and other activities which promote values and capabilities to the participants of the project in order to confront with success the risk situations in their environment.
