Plot
Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire (Julie Bowen) have the same idea – They both want to go to Paris, but since there will be a huge jet lag between France and California, they decide not to sleep and stay awake all night. Claire can't stay awake while Phil remains refreshed; and he goes to airport carrying an unconscious Claire over his shoulder.
At the same time, Gloria (Sofía Vergara), Manny (Rico Rodriguez) and Joe are very unhappy when Jay (Ed O'Neill) decide to remodel the bathroom without telling them. Joe gets stuck on the new floor adhesive. Meanwhile, Jay tells Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) to stand up to his sister-in-law Pam, who has been a royal pain while living with them after her divorce and sets a bad example for Lilly (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons).
Haley (Sarah Hyland) describes Andy as too nice and he decides to change his personality in order to please her. It goes horribly wrong.
