Every mile every mother trailer

Every Mile, Every Mother is a short documentary film directed by Christy Turlington Burns (in partnership with Citizens of Humanity) and produced by Clancy McCarthy, on the subject of long-distance running and motherhood.

Turlington Burns has stated that the film arose from the idea of a metaphorical understanding of how long-distance running is something akin to the experience of giving birth. So, long-distance running and the distance women have to take to gain the benefit of maternity care is the subject of the work, and accordingly the film was made to promote the cause of her charity Every Mother Counts. The charity was initially offered places in the marathon by CrowdRise. Images in the film show Turlington Burns and others involved in her charity running the Hood to Coast relay, and also show briefly members of the charity training people studying to become midwives in Haiti.

The film runs to 15 minutes in length.

The film debut was at Soho house New York. Oiselle, a female running clothing company, hosted a screening of the film on the 5th of August 2014. Oiselle is also the official apparel sponsor of Every Mother Counts. The film was shown at the London's Ham Yard hotel on the 22nd of April 2015.
