Eta Scuti is an orange K-type giant with an apparent magnitude of +4.83. It is approximately 202 light years from Earth. This star has 1.4 times the mass of the Sun, more than ten times the Sun's radius, and is about 2.8 billion years old.

Eta Scuti was a latter designation of 9 Aquilae.
