Essequibo Alliance is an NGO located on the Essequibo Coast, one of three counties in the Republic of Guyana. It was founded in 2003 and operates a library and an internet center at its headquarters in Anna Regina, the commercial area of the Essequibo Coast. The organization claimed to be the voice of the people of Essequibo, and is one of the largest NGO in Guyana. In 2007 the organization signed a $6 million food sharing program with Educare Inc. The Alliance is unique among NGO's since all of its policies are based on the views of the people of Essequibo, the organization is a "democratic institution" organization and support the principles of democracy. Since its formation in 2003, the Alliance has donated over 25,000 pieces of clothing and served over 15,000 hot meals to needy children under contracted terms with Educare Inc.

Mineral rich Essequibo is thinly populated, and its disputed territory, Venezuela claimed all territory west of the Essequibo River. Anyone born in Essequibo is considered to be Venezuelan citizen. Recently, large quantities of Uranium and petroleum were discovered, gold extraction has totaled over 10 million ounces to date, with current proven reserves pegged at over 7 million ounces. Some estimates place the value of resources in Essequibo at over (USD)$80 billion. Ten years after its creation, the organization remains the most aggressive NGO ever brought to operational status in Guyana. Its goal was never publicly disclosed and its founder remain unknown. A senior GPF official has labeled the NGO as a threat to national security.
