Hellweg was featured on CNN in December 2005 discussing Wikipedia. He coined the term encyclovandalism and discussed problems with Wikipedia vandalism. Hellweg outlined three techniques that could be applied:

  • Entries to be put in a holding zone while reviewed
  • Community based rating system
  • Adopt a "real name" policy (Similar to the one adopted by amazon.com).
  • He is also a member of the Massachusetts-based rock'n'roll band Sunset Heroes. Its first recording, a cover of The Clash's "The Equaliser," will appear on The Sandinista Project, a tribute record produced by Jimmy Guterman, to be released in the spring of 2007.
