Erebia epistygne is a species of butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is found in France and Spain. Its natural habitat is temperate grassland. It is sometimes called Spring Ringlet.
The length of the forewings is 22–25 mm. Adults are on wing from March to May.
Larval hostplant is the grass Festuca ovina (Poaceae). Although it has also been reported from other Festuca and Poa species.
The species is vulnerable because of severe habitat loss.
