Eosinophilic cellulitis (also known as Wells' syndrome from George Crichton Wells who first described it) is a skin condition characterized by plaques that resemble cellulitis.

Eosinophilic cellulitis is of unknown etiology, though it is suspected to have an allergic and/or autoimmune component. There are documented cases of it being caused by flea (and other insect) bites and it has been seen in conjunction with Churg-Strauss disease, though many cases are considered idiopathic. In addition, it has also been reported in a case of IgG4-related disease.

It is included in the raredisease.org database.

Typical treatment is with prednisone.
