The concept of Environmental memory is described as the sum of explicit, persistent and structured data of knowledges, models and scientific expertise linked to an environmental observatory system on the long term in order to facilitate access, sharing and reusability of the information.
An implementation of the notion of environmental memory is realized by the open source project called Emios.
