The Environmental Health Coalition (EHC) is a social change organisation in the San Diego/Tijuana region.

History

Environmental Health Coalition was founded in 1980 as a Coalition Against Cancer. The fields they now accompany include; environmental health and justice, social justice, human rights, and environmental sustainability.

EHC’s strategies have led to first-ever achievements, including:

  • The first state ban on lead-contaminated candies
  • The first bi-national toxic site cleanup
  • The first municipal General Plan in California to include environmental justice goals
