Entomologica Americana was an academic journal which focussed on entomology. It was published by the Brooklyn Entomological Society. There is a later journal with the same name (Entomologica Americana) that is published by BioOne for The New York Entomological Society.

History

The journal was published irregularly from 1885 to 1975. First published by the Brooklyn Entomological Society in 1885, publication was suspended after six volumes, resumed in 1926, again suspended in 1964 with Volume 44, and resumed in 1969 with Volume 45, ending in 1975. The Brooklyn Entomological Society merged with The New York Entomological Society in 1968, and the name "Entomologica Americana" has been revived for the journal Entomologica Americana that succeeded the Journal of the New York Entomological Society.
