Dr. phil. Emil Otto Hellmuth Kieffer (9 April 1899 – 13 March 1985) was a Korvettenkapitan of the Reserves with the Kriegsmarine during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.
