Emeel S. Betros (August 29, 1931 – March 10, 1980) was an American lawyer and politician from New York.

Biography

Betros was born on August 29, 1931, in Poughkeepsie, New York. He practiced law, and served as an Assistant New York Attorney General in 1960.

He was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1969 until his death in 1980, sitting in the 178th, 179th, 180th, 181st, 182nd and 183rd New York State Legislatures.

He introduced a bill to reduce the costs of local referendum by limiting the number of polling places for special elections.

Betros died on March 10, 1980, at his home in Poughkeepsie, New York, of lung cancer.
