The 2006 Census by the Australian Bureau of Statistics counted 4,248 persons in the suburb of Elizabeth East on census night. Of these, 2,113 (49.7%) were male and 2,135 (50.3%) were female.
The majority of residents 2,864 (67.4%) were Australian born, with 622 (14.6%) born in England.
