Life

Morgan was born in 1900 and lived her life in Corwen in Wales. She won the Literary Medal at the National Eisteddfod in Cardiff in 1938 for her novel Y Graith (The Scar). She was the first woman to be given this honour. Y Graith tells of the book's heroine as she struggles with cruelty and poverty at the start of the 20th century. Morgan published a number of children's books in Welsh between the two World wars.

The book Y Graith was updated and republished by her daughter Catrin Puw Davies in 2000.
