The electoral division of Derwent is one of the fifteen electorates or "seats" in the Tasmanian Legislative Council. It is situated in the south of the state and is named after the Derwent River.

The last boundary redistribution occurred in 2008. At the 2009 election, the area was 8,760 kmĀ², with 25,777 enrolled voters as of 31 January 2015.

Derwent includes some outer Hobart suburbs such as Bridgewater, Old Beach, Claremont. It also includes many towns such as New Norfolk, Hamilton, Brighton, Pontville, Ouse, and Strathgordon.
