Elcho Priory was a Cistercian Priory four miles south-east of Perth, Scotland founded in the 13th century. In October 1346, Raghnall Mac Ruaidhrí was assassinated along with eight of his men at Elcho Nunnery as the result of a quarrel with Uilleam III, Earl of Ross. Thomas Wyndham burnt the nunnery on 29 December 1547. During the Scottish Reformation, the nunnery was attacked by Reformers on 26 September 1559 and drove out the nuns and completely destroyed their house.
