The El Gallo Formation is a geological formation in Mexico whose strata date back to the Late Cretaceous. Dinosaur remains are among the fossils that have been recovered from the formation.

Dinosaur eggs are known from the formation. Alexornis antecedens actually comes from the La Bocana Roja Formation.
