Ed Murphy (born 22 October 1992) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the National Rugby League. He plays at centre and wing.

Background

Born in Sydney, New South Wales, Murphy grew up in Mungindi and played his junior rugby league for the Mungindi Grasshoppers. He was then signed by the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

Early career

In 2011 and 2012, Murphy played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs' NYC team. On 21 April 2012, he played for the New South Wales under-20s team against the Queensland under-20s team in the inaugural under-20s State of Origin match. In 2013, he graduated to the Bulldogs' New South Wales Cup team. In 2015, he joined the South Sydney Rabbitohs and played with their New South Wales Cup team, North Sydney Bears.

2016

In Round 16 of the 2016 NRL season, Murphy made his NRL debut for the Rabbitohs against the Penrith Panthers.
