Background

Creep was formed in 2009 by DJ Lauren Flax and Lauren Dillard. They initially signed to Young Turks Records and gained exposure from a series of DJ sets. Recording of the album began in 2009, and features numerous collaborations with other artists, including Australian singer-songwriter Sia Furler, R&B duo Nina Sky, Alejandra De La Deheza of School of Seven Bells, Holly Miranda, and Tricky among others. On December 19, 2010, "Days" was released as the first single from the album, and features vocals from Romy Madley Croft of The xx. The album features Electronic and House Music elements, with Gospel influences on some tracks.

Release

The album was released on November 12, 2013. Concerning the album's release, Flax said: "It's amazing how it came together. It really was an organic process, which is truly important to us. The majority of people on our record are friends, it really all came together perfectly". Dillard then adds: "It took a while to finish since we had so many guest vocalists, but we're honored to have worked with so many talented artists." Then Flax also said: "We wrote it and we produced it, so the final mixes had to be everything that it could be. We wanted Chris Coady to mix our record, he had just finished records by Beach House, Zola Jesus and Santigold and we loved the sound of those records. We had to wait for him and it was worth it."
