Dynamic is an Abbotsford, British Columbia-based custom window and door manufacturing company that supplies modern rustic and traditional architecturally-designed luxury residences across North America.

History

Dynamic was founded in 1991 and later purchased by John Mathews in Chilliwack, British Columbia. In 2001, company moved to its current 110,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

The company started as a standard millwork shop, producing windows and doors. Then Dynamic transitioned to a mass customization manufacturing model. This manufacturing model enables Dynamic to achieve thermal performance accreditation (NFRC) on customized designs.

In 2008 Dynamic began the implementation of lean manufacturing practices to increase manufacturing efficiency. The process resulted in the consolidation of space, process improvement, quality control, better employee training and implementation of Kaizan disciplines for a continual improvement process. The practices allowed Dynamic to double output per man-hour on finished products and add complexity to products while reducing errors.

In 2014, Dynamic was recognized by the Boston Preservation Alliance for its contribution to the Commonwealth Avenue Townhouse project. The company was locally recognized in 2015 for manufacturing and production excellence by Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce.

In 2015, the company was awarded a $900,000 grant by the Canadian Federal Ministry of Natural Resources toward the manufacturing development of the first Passive House (Passivhaus) energy-efficient wood windows in Canada

On September 2, 2015 Canadian Conservative candidate and former Prime Minister Stephen Harper visited Dynamic Architectural’s manufacturing floor on a campaign stop for the 2015 election. More than 850 Conservative supporters attended one of the largest campaign rallies to date.
