Drozhzhanovsky District (Russian: Дрожжановский райо́н; Tatar: Чүпрәле районы) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the republic. The area of the district is 1,029.5 square kilometers (397.5 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Staroye Drozhzhanoye. Population: 25,753 (2010 Census); 27,800 (2002 Census); 30,185 (1989 Census). The population of Staroye Drozhzhanoye accounts for 12.5% of the district's total population.
