A dronie is a self-portrait photograph or selfie taken using a camera attached to an airborne, radio controlled aircraft, typically a drone. The concept of taking a dronie (as an alternative to a selfie) first entered the mainstream in 2014 and coincided with a relatively sudden increase in the availability of relatively cheap, camera bearing multicopter drones.
