Dromore (crater)

Eponym

Dromore, a common placename in Ireland (from Irish Droim Mór meaning "big ridge")

Dromore is a crater within the outflow channel Maja Valles in the Lunae Palus quadrangle of Mars, located at 20.1 N and 49.7 W. It is 14.8 km in diameter and was named after a town in Northern Ireland.

Dromore is famous for showing clear evidence that it was affected by floods of water which broke through dams, carved deep valleys, and eroded grooves into bedrock.
