Drew Pearson was born on March 17, 1981 in Mt Druitt, New South Wales, Australia as Andrew Wylie Pearson. He is an actor and producer, known for Aground 2027 (2009), The Day Hollywood Died (2012) and Evil Angels (2011). Pearson has appeared in a number of TV shows, including (AFI winner) ABC's Double the Fist 1 and 2. He has also appeared in several national commercials and award winning short films.

Biography

Born Andrew Wylie Pearson in Mt Druitt, NSW, Australia in 1981 to a Scottish father and a Polish mother. Pearson is engaged to be married, with the ceremony set for late 2013.

Pearson studied acting at NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art) in 2003, before moving on to the Actors College of Theatre and Television (ACTT) for six months in 2004, then completed a three-year course at the Australian Academy of Dramatic Art (AADA) graduating in December 2007. During his studies, he worked in theatre in Sydney, appearing in more than 20 shows, including taking on the roles of Don Juan in Don Juan on Trial, Colonel Whitaker in "Easy Virtue" and Jean in "Miss Julie".

After graduation, Pearson appeared in minor roles in several films, including Cedar Boys, The Combination, Horizons Crossings, The Lives of Mount Druitt Youth. He also worked alongside Joel McIlroy in 5th Shadow and had a minor role in the American cult film Suing the Devil, released in 2011.

In 2010, Pearson played the lead in The Day Hollywood Died and had a cameo role in the film 50-50. In 2011, Pearson was a guest judge at the "48 Hour Film Project" (world's largest film festival) and appeared in the film Exodus, which was a subject of controversy at the time of its release.

Pearson has appeared in a number Feature Films and TV shows. Drew's Favourite Films are One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), A Beautiful Mind (2001)', There Will Be Blood (2007), Blade Runner (1997) (VG)', The Machinist (2004) and Big Trouble in Little China (1986). And Is inspired by artists such as Daniel Day-Lewis, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Stanley Tucci, Mickey Rourke', and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Drew describes His Work as "An Extant Living organism".

Early life

Pearson grew up in Kings Langley, New South Wales and is of Polish and Scottish ancestry. He devoted significant time to tennis and, for a time, trained to be in the NSW team. Pearson started acting at Three Stage, where he attended weekly Saturday classes. Arriving back from a long sabbatical in South Africa in 2003, he gave up a planned career in the architectural field to pursue a career in acting in 2005. Drew Pearson is currently a resident of Northern Sydney, but remains a proud supporter of the South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL team.
