Dreams Soar is a planned solo flight attempt by Shaesta Waiz, the first civilian female pilot from Afghanistan. The official launch date is set as July 9, 2016.

Waiz was born in a refugee camp. Her family traveled from Afghanistan to America in 1987 to escape the Soviet–Afghan War.

She went on to study at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where she started the Women’s Ambassador Program to mentor and support young women pursuing an education in aviation and engineering.

Route

The total distance for the journey is 25,195 miles. The target launch date is set as July 9, 2016.
