Ryan Smyth and Edmonton Oilers alumni sign autographs for fans in St Albert

Douglas Allan Hicks (born May 28, 1955 in Cold Lake, Alberta and raised in Red Deer, Alberta) was a professional ice hockey defenceman who had a reputation as an "iron man" early in his NHL career, missing only one game his first three seasons in the league with the Minnesota North Stars. He also played for the Chicago Black Hawks, Edmonton Oilers and Washington Capitals and retired having played 561 NHL games. Doug is the brother of Glenn Hicks.
