"Don't Threaten Me with a Good Time" was announced on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2015 through Panic! at the Disco's official Twitter account. The video of the audio track was uploaded to Fueled By Ramen's official YouTube channel on the same day of its release, on December 31. An official music video for the song was uploaded on May 10, 2016. As of May 2016, the music video has surpassed 4 million views.

Music video

The music video is shot from the first-person perspective. It showcases a girl putting on makeup, then going to a nightclub, where she meets Brendon Urie singing the song's lyrics. The two end up drinking and dancing together. Instantly, at the line "what are these footprints?/ they don't look very human-like," the girl's leg is revealed to be a long tentacle, but she slaps it back and it turns back to a human leg. Urie becomes depressed but the girl offers him drinks and even phones for taking them home. When they get to the girl's house the girl furiously rips off Urie's clothes and her own as she throws Urie by his bed. Immediately, the girl's shadow grows into a tentacle-like creature which chases the naked Urie throughout the house. Urie is cornered in the kitchen and attempts to throw a lamp at the creature but fails. The creature ends up catching Urie by the foot, dragging him to the bedroom, runs a tentacle through his stomach and throws him out the window. The creature jumps down to the spot where Urie lays, devours his body and goes to sleep. When the creature wakes up it vomits Urie's corpse into a trash can and takes the form of Urie. it puts on Urie's clothes, calls the car from the iPhone and takes the now changed monster to the same nightclub where it begins to flirt with a woman before releasing its tentacles again as the video ends.
