"Don't Pull Your Love" became a gold record. Session musicians later referred to as the Wrecking Crew were hired to record the instruments instead of Hamilton, Frank and Reynolds.

Sam & Dave

The song was recorded by Sam & Dave in 1971. Their version was released on Atlantic Records in October 1971 and reached number 36 on the Billboard R&B chart. The song can be found on a number of "best of" Sam & Dave collections that are currently available.

Glen Campbell medley

In early 1976 Glen Campbell, recorded the song as a medley with "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye". This version went to number 1 on the U.S. easy listening chart, number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100, and number 4 on the country chart. It was a major hit in Canada, reaching #2 on the country chart and #1 on the pop chart. He performed the medley in 1977 with Cher on the Sonny & Cher Show.

Sean Maguire cover

In 1996, the song was covered by Sean Maguire, and released as his seventh single. It was the fourth and final single from his second album Spirit and reached number 14 on the UK Singles Chart.
